Three large, vertically-standing sword sculptures on a rock base under an overcast sky. The swords differ in size and design, each featuring distinct pommels and cross-guards, sculpted in a rough, textured dark metal. The surrounding landscape includes low grass and distant trees.

This 10-metre-tall monument consists of three swords planted in the rocky ground of a hill by the Hafrsfjord near Stavanger . The monument commemorates the Battle of Hafrsfjord, which took place in 872 and reunited the whole of Norway under the crown of King Harald.

„ I will lead the charge
My sword into the wind
Sons of Odin fight
To die and live again
Viking ships cross the sea
In cold wind and rain
Sail into the black of night
Magic stars our guiding light“

(„Swords in the Wind“, MANOWAR)
